What is Chanderi Fabric?

The lightweight fabric, known for its sheer texture and fine luxurious feel, Chanderi can be called a traditional ethnic fabric. The name itself is taken from a small town of Madhya Pradesh named Chanderi where textured sarees with fine zari work made up of cotton and silk is practiced or produced by the traditional weavers. The fabric used for Chanderi sarees consists of three types: pure silk, Chanderi cotton, and silk cotton. Different Chanderi patterns incorporate traditional coin designs, floral art, peacocks, and geometric patterns.
